The Bear and the Hare
Before Christmas our class looked at the famous Christmas ad from John Lewis in English. We brainstormed some ideas of what we could do for people that have to miss Christmas sometimes. We thought of people like doctors, nurses, guards and people in the army that mightn't get to spend it with their families. We also thought about animals that hibernate for the winter and miss Christmas every year...
We then watched the John Lewis ad together...

The class was then split in two. One half were the bear and the other half were the hare. We watched the video together again but this time stopped it at 8 different points. Whenever the video was stopped, everyone had to write down on a small slip of paper, what happened to their character. So half the room were writing the story from the bear's point of view and half of the room were writing the story from the hare's point of view.
The next day everyone was given a partner so that each pair had a bear and a hare! We stuck our stories together to make a full story. Here are some of our finished stories. Click on the picture to see it more clearly...

The King and the Wrestler
What happened next....
We all continued the story of 'The King and the Wrestler,' that we read in class. The winning stories were selected to be typed for our blog. The stories were brilliant to read. Now you can enjoy some of them here.....
By Tom Dorr
“When the mountain is on my head,” said the wrestler, “I
will take it to any place you want.'....
The king brought the wrestler to the
mountain.
“Could you get your soldiers to put the mountain on my head?” the
wrestler asked.
“Okay,” replied the king. The soldiers picked up the mountain and
threw it on the king.
“Whoops,” said the soldiers sarcastically.
“Oh well, not
our problem, we didn’t like him anyway,” said the soldiers. So, the soldiers
walked away. The police came.
“We heard a big rumble coming from over here,”
they said, “is everything okay?”
“Yeah” said the wrestler nervously.
Unfortunately, the police saw the king’s foot coming from under the mountain.
“You’re under arrest,” said the police. So the wrestler went to court and lost.
“You’re going to be here for a long time,” said the policeman while he was
locking him up.
“I’m going to get revenge on those soldiers one day,” the king said to himself.
The End
By Enda Keating
“When the mountain is on my head,” said the wrestler, “I
will take it any place you want”…
The king was angry with this. He drew out his
knife and stabbed the wrestler. The wrestler fell to the ground dead. The king
wasn’t really the king. In fact, the king was really the Devil and he pretended
to be the king so he could torture the land. He killed the real king, King
Jarred. The Devil laughed his evil laugh, but he laughed too soon and out of
nowhere God appeared and killed the Devil.
“Find your own place Satan!” said
God. God was the new king and he called the land Heaven and it was never
tortured again. As for the Devil, he did find his own place and he called it
Hell. So from then on, God and the Devil were fierce enemies and God tryed to stop the Devil and we hope God continues to stop him.
